1) People try to justify Mako and Korra’s cheating.
Idiots. They cheated. With a capital C. “Oh Mako was never taught how to treat girls cause he’s an orphan.” “Oh Korra was isolated as an avatar and being impulsive’s just her.”
THEY ARE NOT SOCIALLY RETARDED.
Get it in your head. They are adulterers and liars. I will not tolerate a double standard.
They knew what they were doing and what it meant. If you love them despite that, then good for you.
If you love them because of that, then I hope someday the exact same situation happens to you, and YOU’RE Asami.
2) Mako lied. Directly to Asami’s face when she confronted him. He doesn’t feel guilt.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about!”
“Oh.. that.”
He was sorry he got caught. Not because he was sorry. Heck, he seems like he BELIEVES it was justified.
He is a selfish little prick that’s actually MAD at Asami for being mad.
Mako did not feel bad. He does not feel guilt over it. There’s a quote from a poem I love that fits this. It’s from Wislawa’s poem “In Praise of Feeling Bad”

3) Makorra is a ship based from homewrecking.
Him and Asami would’ve been a happy couple if she did not make the first move. It’s foundations are from an attitude that’s basically says “Screw everyone’s feelings. I’m going to do what I want because it makes me feel better.”
I get it. Sexual tension. Sure. He was attracted to her, but hey IF EVERYONE DID WHAT THEY WANTED BECAUSE OF ATTRACTION MEGAN FOX WOULD HAVE 100 MILLION SEXUAL HARASSMENT CASES.
4) If Mako and Asami get past this.
They will have so much more than what Mako and Korra have or will have. To get past adultery, and to continue a relationship. That’s so rare and it would be a powerful message of forgiveness and love and trust.
